East Granby High School joined as a CIAC Class Act School in July, 2021. The EGHS Athletics Class Act Council is forming now. If you are a student athlete and would like to be apart of this council please contact Kathy Dias directly at Email Kathy Dias.

The council will meet regularly to discuss key topics regarding respect, teamwork, and character related to East Granby Athletics.

Parent/Guardian Fall Preseason Meeting

The Fall Preseason Parent/Guardian informational meeting is scheduled for Monday, August 30 @ 6pm in the High School auditorium. All parents/guardians of student athletes participating in Fall athletics are asked to come. Also, the meeting will be videotaped and posted on the EGHS Athletics website shortly after the completion of the meeting in case you are unable to attend. In the meantime please review the athletics handbook which can be accessed on EGHS Athletics website by clicking on the "EGHS Athletics Handbook" button located on the right side of the page. Also, all forms except for the sports physical can be filled out electonically and emailed to me.

Important: Please a valid sports physical must completed and all required forms must be turned in before a student athlete can attend a practice or tryout. Sports physicals are valid for 13 months.

Looking Ahead to Next Year

If you are interested in playing on an EGHS Athletics team please fill out this Google Form if you are an incoming 10th, 11th or 12th grader. If you are an incoming 9th grader please fill out this Google Form.

If you have already filled out this Google Form please do not fill it out again.

Forms Needed to Participate in Athletics

Below are the required forms that need to be filled out to complete in Athletics. Please take some time to review these forms. They can be found on the EGHS Athletics website > under the forms tab > under preseason forms. Each form except for the Sport Participation Form can be completed in your web browser, saved, and emailed to Email Contact for submission. Your email will count as your legal signature.

  • Concussion Consent Form

  • Cardiac Consent Form

  • Sport Participation Form (Physical)

  • Code of Conduct Form

  • Informed Consent Waiver (COVID-19)

East Granby Public Schools Pay to Participate Fees

Applicable Student Fees Related to Board of Education (Policy 5139)

The fees do not apply to after school grant funded activities.

The fees do not apply to students in Carl D. Allgrove or R. D. Seymour Schools.

The following fees are in effect until the Board of Education approves a change in a given year.

FEE Structure

The Band Instrument fee is $50 per student per year for students who use district owned musical

instruments. This fee is collected to help offset expenses related to instrument maintenance.

The Parking fee is $20.00 per car per semester for students who drive to school.

The fee structure for Extra-Curricular activities is as follows:

Students in the Middle School will pay a $50.00 fee to participate in each Extra-Curricular Activity.

For combined Musical/Drama when participants are from both the high school and middle school, the fee

per student is $100.00

Students in the High School will pay according to the following schedule:

First Activity - $200.00

Second Activity - $125.00

Family Cap - $325.00 (Several children in the same family in the high school or children in both middle

and high school)

New language to address Co-Op assessments/subsidies

The fee will be applied to athletics. For those who already participate as part of a co-op or single person

team, the payment to the East Granby Public Schools will be forwarded to the host co-op school. Pay to

Participate fee is also applied to the following list of clubs. This list is subject to change as other offerings

become available.

  • Color Guard

  • Drama

Payments

The payments must be turned in to the bookkeeper at the middle and high school prior to the start of the

activity. Start dates will be posted on each school's activity calendar. Checks should be made payable to:

E.G.H.S. and on the memo line please include: student(s) name, sport/activity and student(s) grade.
